Phil Denton Releases 'Disambiguation' Free on Bandcamp and all streaming services.
Charlotte De Witte chart’s Phil’s first release in 4 years - https://www.beatport.com/chart/liquid-slow-chart/587163
After a significant hiatus Decloak Tutor Phil Denton released “Martinet” on the DEADcert Black Mail series in late 2019. This track got great support from Techno stalwarts such as Tom Hades, Takaaki Itoh and Thomas P. Heckman. The track was also included in Charlotte De Witte’s Liquid Slow Beatport Chart, sandwiched nicely between a track from fellow Manc producer Setaoc Maas and one on Tronic Soundz from Strobe.
Phil is now releasing an independent single track EP, which will be available on all streaming platforms and also as a free download on Bandcamp.
The track is Phil’s usual fast and frantic industrial UK techno sound with subtle notes of Detroit and Berlin throughout. There is a great mixture of darkness and energy that will take over your brain and body in a dark club or warehouse that would make time seem irrelevant.
Use the pre-save link to be the first to know as soon as it hits the streaming services or direct download from Bandcamp as of Friday 27th March.
Next up from Phil we will be seeing more industrial bangers in a collaboration with J.Barton on the new Decloak Records which will feature 3 cuts taken from the recent Decloak Jams 002 session which you can check out here to get a taste of what the release will feature.
You can follow Phil and keep up to date with his upcoming releases on the following platforms;

Decloak Online officially launches with 50% off all one-to-one Ableton Live Courses
We are excited to officially announce the launch of Decloak Online which will take our skill sharing worldwide via our YouTube channel and our one-to-one webinar service. We have been tirelessly working in light of the current world events to bring this forward as the initial launch date was late 2020.
To "celebrate" the launch all one-to-one #Ableton Live courses are 50% off. These courses are aimed at everyone from total beginners to more advanced users and are totally modular, meaning you can pick and choose the skill sets and subjects to focus on during you time with us. This personalisation of your course goes further with the option to “genre-focus” and have the entirety of your course focused on a particular style of electronic music such as house, minimal, techno or drum & bass.
The sessions take place via Skype, where we are able to share our screens and the high quality audio coming from Ableton whilst talking live. This mean so long as you have a computer, a mic and some headphones or speakers you can take advantage of our collective 30 years of Ableton Live knowledge.
Beyond just technical know-how, we also offer mentoring everyone who needs it. Our tutors are all producing and releasing music professionally and though our extensive network of friends in the industry we are here to help push our clients to the right labels once they are at the level needed, and we have seen many past students go on to release on these and others.
We recommend booking on a free taster session first however to ensure your internet connection is good enough before making a purchase. To do so please drop us you details here.
Mark Broom Remixes Josh Reeves’ Track then Ben Sims and Mark Broom Play Said Track…
Josh
Reeves
So yeah, Josh Reeves has been getting a lot of air time from us this past 12 month and as a past Masterclass student we can’t ignore some of the achievements he’s been making as of late.
A few months back we mentioned how he remixed techno legend Mark Brooms ‘M19’ track and it looks like the favour has been returned to Josh by Broom, with Broom (currently) unofficially remixing ‘XTC’, Josh’s first release on Manchester based GUI Records.
And it gets better. Last week Ben Sims posted a video of himself going b2b with Broom in Belgium and they were playing the remix of XTC!
Check out the video posted by Ben Sims below!
When two techno top-shelvers like Mark Broom and Ben Sims play anything with your name associated to it, you clearly have reason to be proud!
Eyes on Josh.
Manchester's Duo KRS Two Release 'Stamford EP', Exclusive to Beatport
KRS Two have been pushing out a healthy stream of solid groovy tracks throughout the second half of 2019, and they kick off 2020 with a new release on Music Related Records.
The 4 track EP includes 3 original tracks and a remix from Ray Mono, all of which demonstrate the stripped back grooves, heavy subby baselines and spacey atmospherics being pushed by the duo in previous releases and we also expect plays from some big names in the underground like with their others.
The lads have been not only busy working on their KRS Two project but both are independently working on other works of equal caliber, such as with Kerouac’s duo with Isaac Smile, ‘Kerouac & Smile’, who released on Music Related Records not long ago. Rossa picked up the basics here at Decloak and has a locker full of his own material in the pipeline ready to put out there so keep your eyes on the our newsfeed!

Michael James, Enzo Siragusa and Burnski All Drop By To Decloak Studios in Manchester Recently...
If you are a fan of modern house music and the whole minimal boom we’ve seen again over the past few years then, unless you’ve been hiding under a rock you should be familiar with the above names.
As we are specialists in producing and teaching all forms of house and techno, it is always good to get our pals through the doors to work on projects! The back end of 2019 saw a few big names on the underground pop in to Decloak Studios!
Michael James has been absolutely killing it over the past few years. The Zoo Project resident has put his production foot down, got to grips with his ever growing hardware set-up and has churned out the number ones time and time again.
He has been using the studio a lot lately and helping out some Decloak Students in furthering their abilities in particular areas of sound design and structuring as well as creating and collaborating with others on some of his latest releases.
These collaborations recently have included Enzo and Burnski, who we were more than happy to accomodate.
Enzo & Michael
Insta Clip - https://bit.ly/2Q359aN
Enzo Siragusa, co-founder of Fuse Records, the London based record label and party that has pretty much been the party-to-be-at for over a decade now, with himself and fellow Fuse members like Seb Zito, Rich NxT and Rossko establishing a sound that is synonymous with Fuse. Recently moving up to Manchester, he has been using Decloak studios to keep his ideas flowing along with some very tasty collaborations such as that with Michael.
Apart from being a totally top chap he gave the studio a tag on his Insta, happy days!
Burnski and Michael James delivering the goods…
Leeds main-head Burnski has been a pretty popular choice for parties all over the UK for the better part of 20 years. He is behind some top underground releases both as Burnski and his Instinct alias and his music has become the mainstay of many DJ’s record bags.
Back in November he and Michael James came to Decloak to reignite the old collaboration fires they have shared in projects past. Out came a banger, basically, and we can’t wait to hear more!
All in all we are happy to have delivered on our “Collaborate” goals this year in getting more artist through the doors to create music. Here’s to bigger things in 2020!
Josh Reeves Releases Remix of Mark Broom's 'M19'
JOSH REEVES RELEASES REMIX OF MARK BROOMS ‘M19’.
Another box ticked for the former Decloak student….
It seems that lately I’ve mostly continually waffled on about the successes of past and present Decloak patrons, however the news continues to flow thick and fast. This week we are celebrating the release of Josh Reeves remix of Mark Brooms mighty ‘M19’.
As a long term fan of Mark’s we know how much this means to Josh, having had Broom play for his Manchester based club night Good Gatherings in the past.
The track retains its original chordy driven nature but they have been dubbed out somewhat, which along with a melodic riff floating about in the background gives the remix a much spacier feel, whilst still delivering on the thud-factor. A beast of a remix!
It has been released digitally on Brooms very own Beard Man Records as part of the ‘VOICE EP’, which contains a few more original tracks, along with remixes from Avision.
Check it out below and show your support.

Former Decloak Student Josh Reeves Signs to Techno Legend Mark Broom’s ‘Beard Man’ Label
Josh has gone from strength to strength over the past year or so with his productions, having released on Manchester based GUI Records back towards the ends of 2018.
His latest signing has ticked off a life goal however, with techno legend Mark Broom picking his remix of the brilliant ‘M19’ and signing it to his infamous label, ‘Beard Man’.
His love of and desire to make driving techno has driven him to get his head down and continue to work on his craft, and this signing is vindication for these efforts. With his Manchester techno party Good Gatherings playing host to The Advent at the end of the month at Stage & Radio, Josh has a lot happening at the moment and is one to watch.

KRS-TWO RELEASE SECOND EP
Manchester based duo KRS-Two have released their second EP on Zingiber Audio Digital.
The 3-track release was produced within Decloak Studio’s by the pair over the Spring Time and is illustrates the same stripped back groovy house beats of their first EP.
One half of KRS-Two began his production career here at Decloak, where he got him started on Ableton Live, so it is always rewarding to see yet more clients of ours successfully releasing quality music.

Zonal - Delay Control EP out now on Basement Reborn
Earlier this year we saw another in a string of releases emerging out of the depths of the Decloak bunker. This time Zonal drops another EP on French label Basement Reborn, who’s recent releases feature the likes of Marla Singer and Ket Robinson, the latter of which is also propped up by a remix from Manchester based, A.Morgan.
The first track Delay Control is defined by dark rolling low ends, infused with powerful chord stabs, evoking a peak-time warehouse-rave feel, with Control Delay being a more stripped back and dubbed out affair, whilst still maintaining the driving low ends and high energy techno percussion. Detright is a more synth laden track, with a little more funk in the bass and organic leads. The EP has elements of both US and UK techno with European vibes through out, and is supported by Alex.Do (Dystopian), Juan Trujillo (Simplecoding), Juho Kusti (Deep Space Helsinki), Marco Raineri, Patrick DSP and Raymundo Rodriguez (Jaded) plus many more respectable Techno artists. Available now at all decent download stores!
First EP by Zweizig Released on Brawthers 'Negentropy' Label
Zweizig - Rhythm Tension [Negentropy]
It is always nice when a good mate gets something signed and released. It’s always better when you know personally how much work and time went into said release. It is even better still when their release has been signed, along with multiple further EPs, to a label run by a legend as big as Brawther.
Zweizig is a name you should be keeping your eye on if you are a fan of the more minimal, inter-dimensional spacey grooves of people like Ricardo Villalobos, as by his own admission Ricardo is one of his biggest influences.
I should state here that I did not teach Zweizig production, we only assisted in the mix down side of things and gave him a kick up the arse to get things finished.
His music which is set to be released has been in the making for a decade now, and his commitment to experimentation is evident in all his tracks, a decent lesson in itself for anyone looking to make something “different”.
Released last week, the Rhythm Tension EP hit the number 4 spot on Juno Records and its reception has been expectably great. You can give it a listen yourself below or you can grab your copy by clicking on this link: https://www.juno.co.uk/products/zweizig-rhythm-tension/713829-01/
We can confidently say that the other dozen or so tracks Zweizig popped by to help get mixed down are equally as interesting, and his latest stuff is in another dimension all together, but you may have to wait until he has finished building his live set before you can hear any of that material.
You can catch Zweizig’s first live set at Penda in Birmingham on 26th May.

Second Decloak Student Appears on BOILER ROOM within a Month
HOLLY LESTER
(Manchester, UK / Armagh, NI)
A few weeks ago I spoke about Decloak Student Brett Denning having his track be performed live on Boiler Room (read more about that here). So it's made us all very proud here at Decloak to announce a SECOND Decloak student has now appeared on Boiler Room.
Manchester Based, Northern Irish born HOLLY LESTER has been DJing professionally for a good few years now and has been meticulously developing her own production skills and style for equally as long, coming in to see us over the past year or so to help with a few technical areas of production. Heavily influenced by the Old School sounds of house music she has been making a solid name for herself with her DJ sets at venues like the Warehouse Project.
Last weekend however she achieved a life goal of appearing on Boiler Room. Holly was booked to play at AVA Festival (Featuring a heavy hitting lineup with the likes of Bicep, Floorplan and KiNK to name but a few) and it just so turns out that she was also booked to play at the Boiler Room event there. What a superstar!
You can watch her smash the baloney out of her set by checking out the full Live stream recording below and if you want to see her in person then she will be playing at both Parklife and Bluedot festival this year.
Follow her on Facebook here to keep up to date with her gigs and music - HOLLY LESTER

Manchester's Tom Holden Drops His Slick Debut Single
Every now and then we cross paths with artists that are a breath of fresh air. Take Tom Holden. A one-man, loop pedal armed funkateer from Manchester who came to us for help polishing off his tracks only a few weeks ago. As with every client who contacts us about the mastering service I was entirely in the dark about Tom's music during the initial phone conversation. "Funky, soulful folk" was the description he gave me when I asked what sort of stuff he wanted to send.
As with all great and unique musicians, nailing them down with a specific genre can be near impossible. So when I arrived at the studio to check the tracks out he had sent me its funky and steezy vibe made me a fan right away.
Tom's dreamy creations come from his mind and his alone as he plays all the basslines, percussion, keys and guitars himself, looping on his loop-pedal one part before moving onto the next. Now, this in itself is nothing new, but Tom's sound is something exciting whilst nodding to something nostalgic and old. Jazz, funk, soul, folk and blues influences seem to run deep within the DNA of 'Slompy Dockens'.
From the few tracks of the album I’ve worked on so far each carries a trend of swung percussion, groovy baselines and mystical lyrics delivered with style. It's easy listening and it’s great.
His first single, ’Slompy Dockens' is now out. I highly recommend checking it out and showing this guy some support as personally I can’t wait to hear more!
Check it out the single via the links below, and keep in the loop with Tom at his Facebook Page here - Tom Holden Music.
